B8 Architecture is an architecture and design studio with its main office in Dubai and a second in Spain, working almost entirely on large private houses. Its founder, Kristina Bråteng, began her career in Marbella and has since designed more than 150 villas and residential projects internationally.
The studio covers architecture, interior design, masterplanning and immersive VR presentation, and its Dubai work concentrates on the emirate’s waterfront and gated communities — Palm Jumeirah, Emirates Hills, Pearl Jumeirah, La Mer, District One, Dubai Hills and Meydan. Projects tend to be substantial: eight-bedroom residences, plots measured in thousands of square metres, and basements given over to spas, cinemas and party lounges.
Its houses share a recognisable language — double-height entrance halls, sculptural staircases, water and fire features, and a material palette built on travertine, dark marble, brass and glass — adapted each time to the plot and the family it is drawn for. The studio has been named among the Luxury Lifestyle Awards’ Top 100 Architects and Designers.
